:Thirty By Thirty:

The Thirty-By-Thirty Challenge (TBT) is your chance to scratch your creative itch ... for a full month! The goal is simple: create 30 new pieces (poetry, prose, or art) in 30 days! Whether you are a poet, painter, photographer, or prose-writer, this challenge is for you!

:The Challenge:
Throughout the month of June, create 30 new pieces of work in your genre, or across genres. For an artist, it may mean taking 30 new photographs, creating 30 new sketches, or working on 30 new graphic art projects. For a prose writer, it may mean writing 30 new pages or paragraphs, 30 scenes, 30 flash fiction pieces, or 30 short stories. For a poet it may mean writing 30 new poems or pages. Or perhaps you're a writer and artist who likes to mix it up with genres ... that's okay, too!

Maybe you'll write 30 new blog pieces or articles. Maybe you'll spend time writing pitches for your next project. Maybe you'll come up with 30 new plot ideas for future works, or crafting 30 new characters. Maybe you'll make 30 new greeting cards, or bake 30 new recipes, or ... something else entirely. As long as you have 30 new pieces to show at the end of the month, you're good to go!

:The Why:
Why take the TBT Challenge? Because while writing and art may be things we LOVE, the creation of writing and art is also a HABIT, and it needs to be fed! This challenge is all about dedicating time to the craft of the creative, and allowing ourselves to both develop a habit of working in our crafts and delve into playing with our chosen crafts on a regular basis!

:The How:
Join in on the Our Lost Jungle site every day in June for unique prompts and cues! Share your work on OLJ, links to your work on your own blog/site, and/or your progress as we work together to create!

  1. Woop found this just in time. Looking forward to the challenge!

    1. Welcome to the challenge, Sarah! Best of luck to you!

  2. Hey! Where are the badges??? ha
I'm in! See you on the dark side of the moon (or July 1 anyway)!

    1. Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I DON'T HAVE TO SHOW YOU ANY STINKIN' BADGES!

(Oh, Alfonso Bedoya, how I love you.)

In all seriousness, I'm glad you're in, Kasie! (And if you want the badge, it's posted in each prompt post for June!) :)

    2. Thanks. Since I failed May's submit-o-rama, I should probably turn my badge back in. Do you have a shame pile for those?

    3. I call no such thing as shame piles!!

  3. I'll try to catch up and do this challenge. Excited about this but confused about where to post my work. Help.

    1. Hi, Debi! You can post either directly on the prompt (a new one posts each day), or post to your own website and post the link here ... Or you don't have to post at all! There are some writers and artists who aren't posting because they want to submit their work, and that's totally okay! A few folks are also posting on the Facebook page, and that, also, is okay :)

  4. How did I miss this until today?! I must have been in lala land. It's a wonderful challenge, Khara (as always). I'll try to plug in as much as I can from here on out. I could use some inspiration.

    1. Glad to have you, Gerry! Good luck to you!! :)

  5. Hey, Khara!
I'm just a little late, but I think this is exactly what I need to get writing again. Is there somewhere that all the prompts are listed together? Thanks for putting together this awesome challenge. Are you going to be doing it again? Your challenges always rock, and I'm hoping to be able to participate more in the coming year. Yay!

    1. Hi, Becca! The challenge will definitely be returning next year :) I'll get all the challenge prompts compiled in the section above!

  6. Hey, thre, Khara. Late, who said late? I haven't been here, but I've been working on all sorts of things. I won't be posting my work--it's for submission only right now, other than what I do specifically for my websites. But, I will post the occastional updates. Hope that's okay.

    1. What is this "late" you speak of? There's no such thing ... you can catch up any time! Enjoy! :)

Thank you so much for your comments! Please feel free to share your thoughts here; I look forward to engaging in conversation with you!
