30x30: day 1. new beginnings

Today is Day 1 of the Our Lost Jungle Thirty-By-Thirty Challenge, a challenge designed to help writers and artists foster the habit of engaging in creativity regularly. Whether you are an artist, musician, writer, or other creative type, this challenge is for you.

Each day in June will feature a prompt to help inspire you. Take on the prompt, or follow your own creative path! Please feel free to share your work here, post links to your work on your own blog or website, or just follow along (and share your progress)!

day 1. new beginnings

Today's prompt is "New Beginnings." This could mean giving a character a new lease on life, or a new problem to conquer. You might write a poem about the birth of a child or the dawn of a new day. You might write a personal piece about a recent life change. Maybe you'll snap a photo of flowers in bloom or paint a new world. Or maybe you'll just recognize this challenge as a new beginning to your creative habits! Write, draw, sing, sketch, or sew it out!

  4. My beginning is a new poetry day on Mobyjoe Cafe - haiku for runners. I also took my own photograph - something I've been itching to do. http://mobyjoecafe.com/2013/06/01/haiku-for-runners-to-the-patron-saint-of-the-slow-warmup/

I want to branch out a little bit this month, and this challenge sounds perfect. I think today's is the rough start of some song lyrics...
