fri-write friday 6/22: "a picture is worth..."

... 1,000 words?

"Our Lost Jungle" word art
I don't know exactly how many words are in this--but I do know that the picture (which was a cheesy impromptu self-"writerly"-pic I took because I'd just done my first up-do) you see here is made up entirely (or, at least, almost entirely) of the words "our lost jungle". I've been playing with the Gimp image editing app and having what is probably way too much fun with it. Too much fun or not ... well, it was fun!

Happy Friday, and see you next week!

  1. Very cool! I`ll have to try Gimp. I played with Tagxedo.com earlier this year for Shaping Thought.
    Stay inspired!

  3. Very nice Khara. I've never used Gimp, but used to write poetry in Photoshop with some funky results. We should post some challenge like this of a week. Love it.

  4. Thanks, Michelle, Lara, and Veronia. Gimp is a great free program (with much of the same functionality as Photoshop, Veronica; I actually learned how to do much of what I do in Gimp by watching Photoshop tutorials). I'm not so sure about the "5 things" post ... because I wouldn't begin to know where to start, there's too much!

  5. It's almost as much fun to play with pictures as it is to play with words! I'll have to give GIMP a try.
